Anyone ever try an old style 25 merc cleaver on a 22c Bravo with a stock 502 or 454. I loved that prop back in 1984 on a pre-Alpha and a small block and would love to try one again. Anyone have one they want to sell? Maybe I need a 27", did they make those? Right hand, solid hub would be perfect.

Not for nothing but when I ran a cleaver on my 22 I hated it, it had a very weird twitch when trimming at speed back end would jump side ways. I scared the krap out of a few passengers, dumped the cleaver and went to a 4B Turbo Ultima. The Turbo added 1/2 MPH and improved handling and has no nasty twitch at speed.

I had some horrible handling problems w/a 25" cleaver on the Minx.:frown:
It developed a penchant for rolling on its side.

I loved the cleaver on my Minx. Rock solid, no quirks.

Always wanted to try more pitch but.........

I have a Mirage SS 27p on my C22 but I am too much of a newbie to offer any quantified advice. I do know that in certain rare situations, it does like to roll onto its side, but haven't had it happen at a bad time, most problems that I have encountered were related to playing with the tabs at speed. I run now with "all up" between 60 and 65 gps with absolutely no issues. Great ride. There are certainly some "prop doctors" on this board that should be able to give you direction, but at this point I have no plans to change. My 27 works for me. :cool!:

I tried a mirage on my Minx and put the cleaver back immediately.
