You and whoever the chick of the week is always have a standing invitation... Just bring the moonshine and whip cream for admission... It buys unlimited fun tickets !

Were are you going to keep it?

There is a lot of space avalilble at Golden Isles Marina on St Simons. If you keep it here I can keep an eye on it and take care of it for you. If you need help bringing her home, PM me. I come with tools and experience on Detroits, big boats and the trip home. I have time and it might be fun.

What engines did you get?

Here is mine.

The 71 Series Detroit is my opinion the best engine ever made, certainly has the longest production run of any engine, 1938-1998. They are really a marvalous design when you study them. The 350 hp version is the best of the 8-71's. They will last a long time if you take care of them and run them appropriately. With time at the wheel you will find the "sweet spot" where they like to be, usally around 1600-1750 rpm.

The Detroits are noisey,
They are not the most fuel efficent,
If they are not leaking oil, better check 'em, because they probaly out

But, they can sure push a boat!

I love the sound of a Detroit Diesel in the morning, There is nothing else in the world that sounds like a Detroit on a cold start, That Detroit sound, ...... Sounds like POWER!!
