Met up with DonziVol to hit the Vol Navy. Game was miserable. But he has a real nice boat. 1970 with a 351.

There are 3 empty seats... he needs some female passengers

And yes, it's a really nice boat. It was "battery powered" when I was on it  congrats Donzi Vol!

Thanks for posting the pic, Tim. It was a good time and the boat did well. And of course the company wasn't all too bad either

cutwater, I had a couple lined up, but cancelled on them when I was unsure of whether or not I'd make it. Sigh. Hope to see you out there with us soon!

BURN! That's why I need you with me to remind me of these things. Let's make a deal. I'll help you cut the 5 acres one morning if you'll go for a boat ride with me in the afternoon.

Water temp reading is a bit disconcerting...

Gauges are screwy. Boat was fine.

Congrats on getting back on the water.., boat looks great!

Thanks man. Much appreciated! It took a lot of patience and hard work to get it, so I'm rather thrilled. (And a little help from a wonderful uncle didn't hurt either :))

Looks like someone is going to have a lot of fun!

We'll have to meet in Chatt soon to play with it. Doubt it will keep up with the X, though:frown:

More troubling than the temp reading is the trailer tag. What Vol fan would drive around with a Fla tag on his trailer. geees :eek::eek:

Yeah, you're right. I need to get rid of that silly thing. I've been looking for the right UT tag seeing as TN doesn't register trailers.

Thanks for the compliment, JL. No, sadly the gas cap doesn't go in any further. I need to hop up there and see if there's something in the way. I know I'm gonna catch my foot on it soon enough!

David,

Rich

Thanks Rich!

LOL, so now that we are done bustin on ya, I only got a quick glance at it in Eufaula, it isn't a bad looking boat. Forget where I saw it before, but as I recall it was a good runner..

We still have better College Football though :) :)

Thanks, Poodle. Yeah, it was for sale not too long ago. It's the black 1970 with 274 original hours. The green waterline stripes are new. And yes, it's a good runner. Took it for an evening cruise tonight and the SOB up runs about 4k RPM's! It hops on top of the water and quickly goes to 5k RPM's...meanwhile I'm holding on! I'm going to clean out the fuel system (new seperator and in-line filter) and then let BlownCrewCab have his way with it to get a top speed.

I just call it "a rebuilding decade"... :bonk:

Yep. But it's alright...at least the boaters still have the VOL Navy!

Here are some pics from Knoxville's little run we like to call the Vol Navy. These are down at the waterfront where it's idle speed only. However, getting there from the ramp some 5 miles away is a trip with all of the big boats on half plane going down the river. Fun fun!

Enjoy...

I'm out of town the weekend of the GA game - otherwise I'm in and you are welcome to stay with me. My house is about 2 miles to a ramp for a 10 mile boat ride to the Navy or a 3 mile drive to the stadium.

Actually in TN you CAN title and register (tag) a boat trailer. It is just not required.

I can see it now...a Donzi run for a Tennessee football game. haha...awesome. We really could pull off a fun event if you all wanted to. Looks like we've got RedDog, cutwater, WifeHatesMyDonzi, Hedge, Tex, and Vette all interested. It'd be pretty laid back. Start chillin out after work on Friday afternoon, hit the town Friday night (I can show you a good time ), make a day of tailgating on the boats and campus Saturday, hit up the game, then maybe play around some more on Sunday. It's free to tie up the boats, so that won't be an issue. Just a thought. Anybody else interested??

May have to do a scouting trip at one of you or Red Dog's casa's.

Roller Girl is going to make the trip. It will be ugly when that happens. I think that the raft up with Roller Girl, Tex's Pacemaker and my father's 48 foot Jefferson will be a good scene. Having you and Red Dog rafting up with Donzi's is a must. I have a sneaking feeling that both of you will not want to go home after giving us a ride back to the big boats. There will be plenty of room for all on the big boats. I would imagine that there will be a few open staterooms for you guys. We will have several bars going.

This opens the options quite a bit. Means we don't have to limit it to a day game - I hate running down the river at night to go home - I won't do it anymore.

This year will probably have to be a scouting year. We have to get Tex's boat back from Fl. I somehow think that I will get plenty of days on the water (if you can get enough).

That does not meant that we can't do a Chattanooga Trip though.

Vol has dibs on the Front Stateroom since he asked first. One condition: He has to bring a hottie for me to gauk at!

It might be best to wait until next season to pull it off. That will allow us to plan it to be a real solid weekend and possibly give some more people the ability to join in. Maybe we can plan for the Bama game next year. I believe it will be in Knox.

I'm sure I can pull off getting a hottie there. Now that the Donzi is up here they're all wanting to go for a boat ride! I should have done this a long time ago! :nilly:

Well as we say around here, "y'all come around anytime" and we'll start figuring it out. I'll take you and Tex out for a drink and let you see the waterfront. It's a cool venue.

He did come down and did the right thing. We had fun in the ZX today. Firstafence's boat is out of commission. Had I know earlier he would have been forced to ride with us. We went down to the Firstafence pad for drinks after dinner and before the party. Things were looking out of hand when we left. Good time. 75 hands of poker and we won a good buzz!

Tomorrow? Maybe a little X-18 riding. We will dig up First in the am and do it.

Or maybe we should take Tex's boat. It is parked down from the X and I just might have the key. oh yea, I have the only key.
