This is purely out of curiosity and I'm hoping to learn something...

The 27 ZR and 28 ZX have obvious differences in the bottom but I wonder why?

From the front back:
--The ZX has a bigger swoop up in the hull bottom at the bow (probably makes no difference, mostly for looks I'd guess)
--The ZX has it's first step roughly under the front passenger seats. ZR is more forward, under the windshield area.
--The 2nd step is pretty much underneath the back seat on the ZX. The ZR has it just behind the front seats. This overall nets a small middle section on the ZR with a longer aft section. I'd think (logically) that would be slower because the steps are not in the major part of the running surface, so what's the idea?

Vette, the main difference is twins. No the 27ZR is suppose to be faster but that may be to twins and lower unit drag. the nect thing is the balance of the boat also is step related. The placement of steps has a drastic effect on handling.
