I rode the Speed Triple to work last week, but then left it at the office and drove home with the girlfriend. This week I drove the truck thinking I'd just load the bike in to get both back home.
I had the other triumph (the old one) at a local dyno shop sorting some carb issues. They've been having a hard time getting it dialed in and it's been there a while. Naturally then this would be the week they get it finished up.
So last night I spent some creative time stuffing both bikes in the back of a short-bed Dodge. Glad I've got air bags in the back - otherwise I'd be cutting tires!
On the plus side, it may have taken them a while but they got the carbs pretty much spot-on. Take a look at those curves - I can't ask for any better! 96 hp @ 8400, and 50 to 60 lbs of torque from 3500-8700. Nice and flat. And the air/fuel curve is pretty darn close right through the range as well.
Now - anybody want to trade me a 13 Whaler for the bike?
