That is cool.

My father was a Weasel pilot. He flew the F-105 earlier in his career. He said that some of the most fun he had was lighting the burner and doing low altitude supersonic runs. The 105 had a high wing loading and loved to cook down low. He talks about running down Death Valley well over the Mach below sea level. He said that the shock wave would blow up dust.

He was also an A-4 Demo pilot in the Navy exchange program. He would do a touch and go with a four point dirty roll (with the gear down) low pass. They made him stop doing that one. I dunno but would guess that they would stroke out today at seeing those types of antics.

I think that being a fighter pilot would be a blast.
