1989 Howard Offshore. $12,500.

Engine

All original 454 mag/Bravo1.
Imco Exhaust
Drive serviced by Wilkes marine about 3 trips ago.
Impellar has 2 trips on it and was tuned up when the drive was serviced
No clue on the hours but it runs awesome.

Interior

All original interior. Its not perfect but its not in bad shape.
Also has custom made all stainless bimini with flush mount hardware.

Hull

This is a very narrow offshore style hull. Rides like a slot car and is unbelievable in rough water. The gel is original and like the interior is not perfect but is in great shape. Needs a couple scratches touched up but as far as I can tell theres no stress cracks or anything. Its very solid. Also the drivers side windshield has a crack in it that I epoxied back together but isn't that noticeable unless your really looking for it. Has Bennett dual ram trim tabs

Stereo

It has a Clarion headunit with MP3 player hookup and 2 Eclipse amps.
Trailer

3 axle Ellis with good tires. Trailers in good shape. A little rust on the cross beams but nothing to get too worried about. Its tows awesome.
The brakes assemblies are new at the wheels but the brake line from the master has a leak and needs to be replaced. Probably should put a new master cylinder in it which I can have done or I'll knock a little off the price for the buyer to get it taken care of.

This has been a great boat for me but I picked up a new project and this needs to go to finish that. I hate to do it as I love this boat and its been so reliable and good to us. It will run high 60's in the winter and mid to low 60's in the summer heat. I've seen a best of 73 out of it. I'm willing to deal so make an offer as you never know what I might take. Its amazing how many compliments this boat gets as it looks so awesome in the water. I hate to see it go.
The boat is in Havasu right now but I'll be bringing it back here to Lomita, Ca soon.

Email me for my number or any questions or offers. dbarker76@gmail.com No trades please. I need the money to finish my new project.

Since You got Yourself a nice Schiada You are forgiven for selling Your great Howard. This will be the first and last time two Howard 23 Offshores are for sale on the Donzi.net simultainously, of that I'm pretty sure.

Make an offer guys. I'm negotiable on the price. It needs to go. The boat is in Arizona and it may be worth the drive out.

Is that a splash of the old 27' Magnum? I love those lines.

That I do not know. Howard got this mold from Crusader. As for where Crusader got it from I do not know.

Quote of mine from another thread on donzi.net;

"The 23' boat actually has a 6' beam, so it's a very narrow hull. I've been told that the entry is deeper than 60 degrees and that midship she's got more than 30 degrees. The hull was originally designed for offshore racing with a single outboard that was rigged on pretty extended gil-bracket. The boat shocked everybody with a second overall on the shorter course at the 1985 Rum Run in CA. It was beaten only by legendary Al Stoker who ran his 26' SST with twins. Greg Briles had just created this 23' Crusader and there was no name for the model yet. It was later named Crusader 23 Offshore and the mold eventually was bought by Howard Custom Boats in the late 80's."

P.S. In the photo Mr. Briles is out testing in the original Crusader design in

1985. D.S.

Great looking boat! It might be the lighting in the pictures, but it sure looks like the blue gelcoat has a fadeout transition from dark blue to a lighter blue on the deck and sides. Highly cool if that is correct since you don't see that very often in gelcoated boats. Bill

It is exactly how you described it. They did a great job on this gel. And it's still in great shape. It's killing me to sell this thing.

Howard is pretty well known for highly creative gel work.

Does this boat have the same delta pad at the transom? This was a change from both Commander and Warlock hulls which carried the 24 degree V right to the back.

Make an offer. I'm willing to deal on it. Its very clean. And runs like a top. I was half tempted to take the motor out and put it in my new boat but would hate to ruin such a nice running deal.

Amazing how few people are aware of the plush ride of this hull. What is your best GPS ?

I've gotten 73mph out of it. That was in the spring with about half a tank of fuel. Realistically with full a full tank in the heat of summer it sees mid 60's. I'm not one to run it that hard though. It usually lives at around 3500rpm and thats around 40-45mph.

How wide is the Howard "edge" to "edge" at the transom rub rail ?
Also, can the 3 axle trailer take a longer hull or is it "fitted" ?

Its 6 foot wide. I think this trailer is pretty much made for this boat.
