what will a 2" shorty gain in mph@what would be good prop to start with.

I would hazard a "guess" on the 18 that 2" would yield about 3-5 mph. Prop ??? no idea...

You bought a 2008 18 with a 6.2L and put a shortie on it and didn't tell me............:nilly::wink:

Talk to Steve, I remember his disappointment at first try. Now with Hdraulic steering and some labbed props he is in the very low 70s. He did not gain very muck like Lenny said 2-3 mph.

Yes here I am. 3 to 4 with shorty and labbed props. But that is only half the story the boat rides and handles much much better IMO with the shorty, boat runs flatter with less chine walk. You could expect to see 72-73 with shorty and labbed props as a best 70-71 pretty much all day long, hopethis helps if ya wanna chat about it PM me. Hope it helps Steve

the shorty probably 2 to 2.5 the other 1 to 1.5 is in the labbed prop IMO, and I've tried several props if you decide to go this route be paticent playing with props, Steve
