Anybody know where I can get a trim sender for a 1990 omc cobra? They quit making them several years ago. It looks like a sealed unit, but has anyone ever tried to fix one? Any help is appreciated and it can be new or used. Thanks

I'm always amazed at the things I find on Ebay, may be worth a shot.

Good luck.:cool!:

Lever style or like the one above? Most had the lever which was also used on some of the OB's, most of the time the sender is Ok but the wires go bad inside the insulation. I may have a source!!!

Thanks guys, it is the lever type. I ran across that other style earlier on ebay also. The omc part number is 3853920. Thanks MOP, it'll be awesome if you can find one.

I am on the road now poking around, so far the two best don't have any. Still have one to go! The OMH's on the OB and IO are the same, wire length is different so I am checking for both types!

Ok 3853970 was superseded by 3850470 I/O numbers, now the sticky part. I found two outboard senders they as far as I can see are the same. Not cheap so please shot a photo of yours and post it! I think we have a winner but want to make sure, all the senders used the same gauge so electrically they are as I said the same. Will wait for you picture!

Wanted to wrap this thread! A very similar lever style is available from Bombardier which as we know took over OMC, the part is a tad over $70. The mounting holes on the gimble would need to be relocated a little that an a little ingenuity and it should work just fine.

Great! Tell me how to get it and I'll go from there as I'm not having any luck locating one. I'm very mechanically inclined and do all of my own work on my cars and boat, etc.
