The pic below is from the 4 sale section, the 2004 RAD 22 Classic! The exhaust dumps look like something supplied by the header people, has anyone else tried this style dump? It looks like a good way to keep block and back pressure down

Funny that you mention that. I will be forced to put the switchable tips on my 26 by the noise police. For some reason they think it is too loud. I will be doing some reversion testing with them and Eddie recommended something similar to that if we need to dry the exhaust out a little more. I think that our spacing was going to be a litle different

Probably a restricter in the exhaust dump and most water goes out the transom. Cool set-up. The invisable hose clamps are a nice touch too......

I was thinking the same until I looked in a friends boat that had 3 stage seawater pumps on each engine!:shocking:

These dumps were common in closed cooling systems because the exhaust had too much restriction. This allowed the cooler to flow more water through it and keep it cool especially with hull and transom pickups. I had that on the Corsican, when I had the Osco on it, before the CMI were installed.

Looks a little scorched above the starboard exhaust where it passes through the transom. I can't imagine that is a good thing.
I know fiberglass doesn't burn until somewhere around 850 degrees, but once it starts, look out!

Just going to guess that he is running CMI into tips with no mufflers now.

Exhaust boot breaking or leaking can cause a similar look on the inner transom.

I noticed that also but it is isolated to such a small area that it looks more like some thing else maybe a past exhaust leak.
