volvo 285 280 250

what is difference between the following drive and a 250.
i am planning on buying the pair for my bertram baron. and replace my 250 with these 285.
any good point or bad points.

anyone know these drives they are in maryland any input will be welcome

Assuming V-8? Make sure there 1:1.61 lower units. Thru hull exhaust?

the owner told me they are from a 30 bayliner 1985 boat that had twin 350 chevy. on the serial# tag it is marked 1.6 is there way to turn the drives by hand and if they are both 1.6. is the 280 with the large cavitation plate a plus or minus over a 270 .

On SOME boats, not all the lower is slower. I have done the tests.
