I switched the 13" wheels on the aluminum trailer with my 14" aluminum mag wheels. When I tried to launch this morning the efing trailer floated hung up the bow eye on the goofy magic tilt swivel bow rollers. I had to pry up on the bow eye to get it off the trailer. Guess I have to add weight to the trailer.

gives whole new meaning to a lightweight trailer

I had the same problem...here is a link to the thread I started a while back. I don't have enough tongue weight on my trailer...I am going to get 2 more of these 30* bars to add 60lbs to the front of my trailer.

When I launch where there is a current I have to back the trailer in real slow to let all the bubbles work themselves out of the cross members and crannies or the trailer will float. Maybe that will work for you or maybe there is a frame part that is trapping air and can be opened up.

Trapped air don't make any difference with an "I" beam aluminum trailer, mine floats all the time in salt water but it sinks up at the 1000 Islands. Where I launch at the river the ramp is so steep the guide bars go under water, the back of the trailer is about 8 feet under. I wish it would float up there, I have to side the guide bars up and tape them to be able to see them. I may try a block of dock foam under the back end next year:bonk:

do you have brakes? I'm surprised that extra weight doesn't do it.

My Minx trailer would sorta float, only noticeable if you really put weight on one side of the frame and never bad enough to not get the boat on or off. Tandem axle, 15" wheels, no brakes.

You could let the air out of the tires!:boat:

Catch's trailer did the same thing when he added the fancy aluminum wheels...

I used some lead blocks, and a pair of big hose clamps to hold them on. Sunk like a rock...

LOL. (For some reason, I want to show a floating trailer picture to the guy who somehow drove his pickup in the drink with the Whaler high and dry behind it, just to add to his confusion.)

What a surprise PITA.

It's amazing how buoyant four tires and two cypress bunks are.

The trailer under my Magnum 27, which BTW has steel wheels, is a real floater even fresh water. Its a real pain to deal with at the ramp, especially if there is any current at all.
