Does anyone know where to find a new or used oil cooler/power steering cooler combo for a 502? Seems the cold winter froze mine and stupid me forgot to remove the hose to the cooler. I hope I don't have to pull the engine to replace it? Looks as though one end popped off and let go at the weld/cap side(drivers) Are these things pricey? maybe I can get it welded but would rather just re/re it.
Thks Mike

Shouldn't have to remove the engine, hose clamps hold it in place. Pricey, what isn't from Merc? Should be around $100 to $110 US. Who knows how much in BC?
What year is your 502?

I played this game earlier this year looking for a bigger cooler for my 502. Here's the results:

Motor is a 502 from 1996..Part number i came up with is 807292T but when I type that into google I come up with a picture price etc. and looks to be the wrong cooler. Mine has spin out ends via a 9/16th SS bolt that allow you to take either end apart for winterizing. and it is longer than the descriped 10.5 inches...Griz and Geoo know the exact ones as they both use them but to try and find a replacement or part number is a dead end.
Thanks

George. I saw and read this post on my search but this would mean a ton of re-plumbing, reducer fittings etc. Nice cooler mind you..and thanks for the post

It is shown, but if you look closely it is shaded differently than the rest of the parts and it is not listed on the parts list. Maybe it is discontinued.
I'll look some more.

Got the cooler repaired. This company in Bellingham WA that manufactures heat exchangers simply rebuilt it and replaced the end caps with new gaskets. To the tune of 50$ cash. I even waited for the repair. Wow..It was called Orca Marine heat exchangers..I'm a Happy man...No leaks:nilly:
They sell an in house replacement for 600$...They also do custom work

I was going to tell you that http://www.perfprotech.com/store/default.aspx
carries some used parts and saved me on a heat exchanger but you found a better place. I put Orcamarine in my favorites for future reference.
