May he rest in Peace...

I will break out my TV Yellow LP Special and multi-track recorder in his memory...talk about an amazing legacy of invention and innovation!

He must have been 90 or more.
When I was very young, (like 4-6 years old) he and his former wife, Mary Ford, had just broken on the scene with "Little Rock Get Away" and "The World is Waiting for the Sunrise" and a few others. Mind you, this was in 1948-1950.
They recorded in their own home and got additional echo in their records by recording in the bathroom.
This was pioneering stuff.

Been away for a few weeks and just noticed this thread. I was fortunate enough to see Les several times in NYC. He was a great player and a great showman: always kidded w/ the audience and stayed around after sets to sign guitars w/ his famous signature.

I'm more of a Fender player but I have two great 50's Les Pauls in my collection: no Standards however although I once owned a nice Goldtop and a Black Beauty.

My buddy Ron has had a Les Paul 12 string horded away since we were in our 20's managing local bands.
