This weekend I finally was able to get my Son (Jake - 14 months) out for his first boat ride. It was typical Seattle August weather (60 degrees and cloudy)...but we bundled up and tooled around the lake a bit.
He LOVED it! We were worried that he would be afraid, but the more the boat rocked, the more fun he was having...I was a very proud father! Of course, Grandpa made us take a ride in his boat too... I think he enjoyed it as well...:)

He will be hooked. Great feel good stuff that some families never get to experience. I take it Mom was out of town:)

Those are some great shots, thanks for sharing…but you have no idea how much you will cherish them 20-30 years from now

I’m 58, my daughter is 27 and consumed with her life, career, and my father passed away 4 years ago…we grew up boating but unfortunately I only have a few photo’s of us boating together like that…

Some of my very first memories are of me in the boat with my dad. He's 82 now.

You know, good point. I was with my Dad in a boat all but everyday since I was 6. I do not have any pics of him whatsoever in regards to this. I have one of him in my X-18 when I bought it off of Byron.

He is still alive. I should get my $hit together.

Don't be shocked Eric. He digs it because his Dad and Mom do. His grandpa does also. He is likely following your lead, and that is a happy place to be. The best in fact. At that age it is much easier to get them 'onboard' with whatever you are doing. Some might call it brainwashing! I had my boys out on the same lake a few months sooner than you with the same result. Way to go!

My daughter was born on June 12 and she was in the boat (a small Sea Ray Cruiser) that same season…my wife had her in a ‘water baby’ class her first winter…the ONLY problems we ever had resulting from this was her over confidence and getting her to wear a life preserver and her taunting us for being timid to jump off the cliffs with her at age 6 or so..…
