penta 200 vs 270

are the uppers the same between these 2 drives

yes pretty much I think the 200 reverse lock mechanism is different from a 250 270
to give you an idea

my 250 lower ran on a 270 upper for a season and now it is running on a 200 upper for a season or too
also there is some difference in the clearance or radius from the center of the prop shaft to the anti cav plate on the 200 it is shorter than the 250 or 270

The reverse lock is a little different but internals will interchange. There is another thread here still active read it. your asking the same questions that were asked a week ago.

No problem I have done the same thing more then once. the Volvo drives are good drives. I have with two boats with them.

oh I have no doubt in that just tryin to source parts for this thing is a real pain and seems like the local shops either have no idea what they are working on or are trying to screw me. all this thing needs is a tranmission and a prop shaft seal
