I purchased this boat awhile back. It looks like it was just painted. No decals or stern #. Where can I look for a manufactures plate? Holman/ Moody stern drive with 302.

I think you posted this question previously didn't you? Matty answered it well with his observations, I think others mentioned to look for a HIN on the back of the dash or up under the bow lift eye.......:confused:

Strange there is no gas fill on the foredeck. :confused:

It also looks like the engine hatch has a raised section, but it could be a reflection off something. The engine hatch latch looks different from anything I have seen. Perhaps it is just the angle the picture was shot from, but I don't see any hatch hinges.

Hatch looks pretty darn big.

On an observational note, I'm curious about the label on the transom assembly on the outdrive. It says Holman Moody. I've never seen that before...unique to say the least!

It''s a Vance. Don't know much about them but I saw a couple at Lake Tahoe when I worked at Sierra Boat company. We also had a some Fiberglass Chris Crafts with the Holman Moody equipment.

a Vance would be one of the many companies that made a splash of the 16 is the model called a champ?

not sure about the boat....nice TR-6 though.....I used to have a '73, and my parents still have an all original '74 with 35k miles in their garage...fun cars ! Cool dog too ! :)

The give away is the bottom strake goes all the way to the stern and has a rounded bottom. the only full running strakes are on the barrel backs, not the 16.
