Seems to be some disagreement.

They do under rate them some what called CYA, when I was running my SK boat I found the 71's did not hold up under high RPM, I shattered pump gears two times and had the pinion carrier destruct which destroyed just about everything in the case. I swapped to a 72 but also re propped to get the engine down about 1,500, that one was still going when I sold it

My SK had a 327 .030 over, Duntov green cam and camel backs, I ran 29" dry stacks. I can only guess that it made a little over 300 HP, had a wicked lope at idle it was a hoot and one of the loudest ones on our bay.
