I know that this boat is better with twins but what kind of performance can I expect with this setup? Any opinions?? I really want the Donzi and am avidly searching for either a 26 or 28, 1998 or newer. Thanks for any responses

I have been in a single 502 1999 and the T 350 1999 28ZX.
The single is an honest 62ish MPH boat that in my opinion rode different that the one with twins.
The weight is just right.
For the speed definately the twins.
Both are very nice boats.

Boattraderonline had a bunch of 26's & 28's for sale today, a couple VERY good buys.
No Scorpion engine packages though.... not that I was looking! Hell I am always looking....
Good luck,
Bryan

I am sure this one could be had for under 50K
http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/0/0/33787900.htm

and this one for about 45K
http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/7/2/26476072.htm

and this one with new 6.2 320HP motors
http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/7/6/32305176.htm

shop hard, times are tough and most WANT to sell a boat and make some profit but not a huge one, they need to eat too and there are some darn good deals out there.

The 26's in 80K range will never sell and have been there a year, owners are way upside down in their loan.

I have tried to e-mail the second one you mentioned. No response, I then called the place and did not seem too interested in selling it. Thanks for showing me them though. I really like the graphics on the one in Kentucky.

I have a 2000 28ZX with twin 350 mags boat runs 72MPH all day long I am moving up to a 2002 33ZX trading the 28ZX. The boat is located in Northeast, Maryland at Jackosn Marine. Take delivery on 33ZX in two weeks. My 28 is showroom condition kept in High & Dry since new. I loved the 28 wife and I needed more room in the cabin hence going up to 33. Good luck in your Donzi buying.

Look for a guy named fastrucker on this board, he has a 28 with a single 502 in it.

Bryan has the exact speed of a 28ZX with a single 502/ She will run an honest 62-63mph. If you want more you can always supercharge. I ran enough single 27 and 28 ZXs and they all run about the same,

hey i didnt know anybody reads my posts?or is it because i get really drunk and then go on the computer, beats sex!oh anyway ive done a lot of research on this issue of twins.i wish i would have bought a donzi with them.my 502 28zx 1998 ran 65mph when i bought it.now it runs 71.i spent around 5 grand.stainless marine exhast.k+n flame erester.sent the ecu to az speed+marine for reprograming.new wires, hotter plugs, cap, ect.i also took out the baffles, mufflers since boat was a fresh water lake boat.bravo-1 prop from bronson prop shop worked the best so far.the boat is lighter then the new ones, single eng.also makes it lighter then twins.but ive been towed in twice this season, hint" buy boats us towing insurance."

the boat had baffles in the tail pipes.we took the whole thing out, sent it to a machine shop.where they took them out. they then needed to put a bigger flap on the back 5in i think?i wonder why donzi did this? :( exhaust tips remachine job cost me $.i dont know why anyone whould want this on a performance boat, lake boat laws or not.

Bryan, I am pulling mine out They are only 7" on the outside, They are still plumbed 4" 0n the inside, 4"tips with plates will work. Your flaps are still 4" so they can be reused
