I used to call Mark Sauer at the St. Paul Shipwrights every once in a while to get info on this Chris Craft project I have. They restored a 1959 26' Riva Tritone with Mahogany Bay that once belonged to Rita Hayworth. Man I love these boats.

Isn't it truly amazing the prices these boats command considering they're basically a post WW-II-1940's design?
Even in the '80's, they were over $300K new w/a 3 year waiting period.

I know about of atleast 10 woodies that were fuel for the barn fires at the spring clean up party or the season ending clam bake at the marinas by me in the 70's. they were used as work boats and once they stop floating
put another log on the fire



since the mid 80's all of the abandoned woodies were snatched up most were sold for balances on storage bills that were past due
