I think Mike is right, but I guess my real question is would the pilot do that maneuver that close to the ship?

Note that the blades on the helicopter never move. Even sitting still in port those blades always have a small amount of verticle motion. Jet blast would have them jumping. And jets don't make that pitch maneuver.
Now an alien UFO might make that maneuver... though there would be no reason to do that.
Or a cartoon... cartoons do wonderful maneuvers that completely ignore gravity and other silly physical phenomina like physics and aerodynamics.

you can see the pilot hit the afterburner when the plane reaches the top of the page, then you can see a half circle of smoke when the pilot completed the flip

I would hope not on my tax dollars...

Not a political issue, so I'm going to go out on a limb and trust Snopes on this one.

other things to keep in mind
the most dangerous part of VTOL is the transition from vertical flight to forward momentum flight or vice versa . it takes a bit of time for Bernuli to take effect or when Bernuli has left the bldg for the raw thrust to keep it aloft . so doing a high risk manuver like a loop would be extremely dangerous during that transistion if it is all possible
the hardest things to digitize is a slightly arching line, a circle no biggy but look at the copter blades notice the ridges in the blades
I will check with Joe I bet whoever created that is from his college some of the stuff he showed me last time he was home is really off the hook
