Well... now we know what a clean 30+ year old 18' Donzi is worth. There are some other nice ones out there.

Back on Ebay. I called the guy, he is a hot rod dealer that took it in trade from a "good customer". I asked what happend to the last deal, he said the guy could not get time off work to come pick it up from NY. Said he had a survey done, and told me "The surveyor said he would by it if the guy did not want it". Are surveys public information or would I have to pay for the findings? Not real trusting of a used car salesmen, no offense to anyone. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The survey belongs to the person that paid for it. If they choose to release it to the dealer/broker/seller/etc that's fine, but they have no obligation to do so.

I just realized that I never told anybody that this is the wonderful 18 Classic that I purchased at the end of the summer. It was actually quite a while after my first post on this thread. It came back up for sale and things worked out.

Since the purchase, we have added a modest green waterline stripe, installed electronic ignition with a new coil and all new wires, a new alternator, and a few other things here and there. Soon to come will be rewiring the gauges, a battery switch with a second battery, and some work on the trailer.

Thanks for all of the help and knowledge that I've gained from each of you in the past 2 years here on the board. It has all really helped, and now I'm ready to spend my money on some 93 and have some fun!

All the best,
David

p.s. I haven't found the top speed yet. Threw a belt at 48mph GPS at 4300 RPM. She was asking for more when I pulled back on the throttle

I know...I know. I've talked about her quite a bit on here and told several people, but just never did post to let everyone know that this is the one. My bad:lookaroun:

Glad to hear its running. I don't understand the PS though? You should have had some run time accumulated by now.

Russ! Good to hear from you, man. I had a little run-time, but not a lot. Too freakin busy running the country-side. And when I did have it out, they were just short runs to meet RedDog or go to dinner...not to wear it out. Can't wait for March...

Wear it out and if something breaks- fix it better. Glad you still have it. Keep it!

Oh, don't worry. I don't plan on letting her go anytime soon. It's been a dream since I was a little tyke riding in the X-18 to have one of my own one day.
