Well today I was going to pull the gimbel bearings out so I could replace them. So I pulled off the old bellow and I noticed a piece of aluminum kind of hanging by where the tilt comes through the gimbal. So I touch it with my finger and the piece falls off. So now I need a new gimbal. My dad has a gimbal from an old boat he had, but its for a 250. I was wondering if there is any difference in the gimbals of a 270 and a 250?

Are you talking about the shield IE: the part bolted to the boat? Id so you it can be swapped backwards to a 250. What exactly broke off? was it where the tilt rod come out? That is caused by not fully retracting the tilt and running the boat.

Yea it broke where the tilt rod comes through. I'm not sure what you mean it can be swapped backwards to a 250. thanks chris

Use the 250, clean it up good and check the tiller bushing and seal while it is easy to get at.
