It has been unbelievable weather and now home sales are breaking prior records. Wonder if it will spread South ??? A few 100 degree days, and a 1/4" of rain in a month :)

The Ottawa market for May 09 was ahead of May 08 in both Unit Volume Sold, and Total Dollars Sold.

Hopefully it lasts, we are finally starting to see some movement in the $600+ price range. Waterfront is still sluggish though.

In our area Lenny, houses have been selling like crazy. It's funny though; the local real estate paper is thin, thin. Like 2 pages, compared to 40 pages last year, yet the sales this year are phenomenal. I personally know of a couple of house in our area that sold for well over asking price. My brother in law bought 1.5yr ago (not too far from us) in a 1M + neighbourhood and houses there are selling for more than what he bought for then. Recession?.......not around here, that's for sure.
