Just to confirm, I have a pressure pot, I'm filling from the bottom plug until I get oil at the top vent, then close, and top up the reservoir?

Correct, that keeps air pockets from forming.

True, you can fill until the reservoir rises but it is a wast of time. When the drive heats up it raises the level in the reservoir.
