This is a buddy of mines '72 Dragoncraft flat-bottom V-drive (and me at the helm, note my DONZI shirt:)). 540ci pushin around 725hp +/-, top speed in the 1/4 mile is 106mph on the radar. While Lake Mead was a little rough last week, about the best I was doin' was low 70's, and I felt every MPH of it. The boat is a total rush, and rode totally rough, but what a lot of fun:yes:!

lots of acceleration.......AND deceleration:shocking:!!! Holy chit, when you let out of the throttle it is like instant brake! I can't remember what he (owner of the boat) called it, but it is required on drag boats that do over 80mph that it has a 'dog collar' (maybe the name) which allows the prop to still spin while the boat is slowing down, but not at the instant rate that the motor decelerates. Hanging on slowing down is more important than when speeding up.
