Here it is finally...

This is a video I did of excepts from a day of dyno testing of my new 500+ hp all aluminum LS Marine engine offering. It weighs 500lbs less than a big block and redlines at 7250 rpms. It's made to hold together for a long time and produce a lot of horsepower.
Each of these comes with closed cooling, CMI Headers, MSD ignition, anodized billet valve covers, billet serpentine belt system, and a bunch of other really cool custom built stuff. Each engin is also dyno tested and includes its own dyno sheet. You guys let me know what you think.

(begin tasteless plug:wink:)
Call me at Victory Marine if you want more info.

Ok who is going to stuff one of these beauties in an 18 with a shorty? A 22 it is a no brainer, power and handling! Though the peak is 7250 the HP is decent down where we need it!

Ballpark numbers using the RPM & HP from the video and the standard TQ/RPM/HP formula:

RPM TQ
3000 400
3500 425
4000 456
4500 467
5000 478
5500 468
6000 446

Nicely done Scott. Some people are going to give you flack for the RPMS, but don't worry about it because the engine works. We have been doing some for a different application. The fact is the engine works and works well. Will it replace a BB in some applications yes, in others no. In the small block circles it is the way to go.

Peak torque is about as perfectly placed as you could ask for! To bad I am poor these day might try to trade my 383!!!

I have the perfect 18 for this, when I'm ready to repower I will be looking very very hard at this option

Nice Scott. That should be good in a number of applications.

I can think of a few:yes:

Don't be fooled guys by the display. This engine generated 588hp in this dyno run. For those of you who are not familiar dyno's, There are corrected hp figures generated after the run because the display cannot keep up with the figures being generated. The simulated gauge for the hp is not accurate.

We made this run with hardly any timing (25 degrees) and a 750cfm carb.
This engine will run lower octanes with this timing and last a very long time.

We added 3 degrees to the timing and the hp jumped to 605hp.

We added an 830cfm carb and the hp went up to a hair over 620hp.

We will refrain from telling customers this BUT the redline is actually 7800 on this engine. I will post the dyno sheet later today.

I realize I'm not all that "up" on the latest/greatest Hi-Perf stuff, but other than some type of Arneson/clone drive, what type of unit can handle 7,250 rpms?

Like Bill Murray said as the character Dr. Peter Venkman: "Scuse me Egon? You said crossing the streams was bad!"

Jus cuz it does 7250 does not mean you run it 7250....

I wouldn't run anything less than a Bravo 1XZ.
This is a 1x upper with a XR lower.

Or of course a bravo 1 XR.

and of course you can play with the gear ration/prop pitch to.

Hmm, 1.5 ratio drive turn a 29-30 pitch prop at around 8-9% slip @ 5,500 will net ya high 80's to low 90's. That would be as fast as I'd ever want in an 18

If a person wanted to utilize the RPM range they could always use a tranny w/a 1.3: 1 ratio.

very nice. I didn't watch the whole vid. Was a complete sheet on there? Something that was mid 500hp at mid 5000 rpms would be sweet!

525 power with 500 less pounds!

Wow, that's a lot of 5s. lol

Place looks familiar.

Heard lots about this motor when I had mine dynoed and tuned. Put the pieces togther and had asked Scott about it. Turns out it was him but he asked me to keep hush hush on the deal. Pretty impressive motor from the sounds of it.

I agree, I would prefer max power around 5500rpm, 7250 is for cars. Love the weight tho.
