When replacing the 4.3 with a chevy v8 are the motor mounts in the same place. I know port to starboard same dimensions....just didn't know if a v8 would bolt right in and the extra 2 cylinders where just at the front of the block....any info is helpful. thanks

when i did it i unbolted the mounts from the stringers and moved the rear mount hole to where the front mount hole was .. worked perfect only had to drill one new hole in ech side and fill one ... i also removed the board that is behind the rear seat , i think that gives you another half inch .. you will need that , lol ...

Best thing to do is do a dry fit, with the motor hanging from the hoist with the motor(rigged with the mounts on) and an alignment bar. Mark the holes, and remove the engine, and then drill your holes...

Twas a fun time
