I currently have the Merc standard, and it stands out like a sore thumb...
Is the Dana Marine the way to go???

I went with the Livorsi billet side-mount throttle with the backplate to avoid the dual levers.

Yes, I have the Livorsi on my 18. It is a nice piece. The feel is so much better than the merc throttles
You have the hookup on those?

Thanks man, you will love the Dana for sure. I really love the dual lever action. I was a little concerned it would take some getting used to but not the case at all. Be sure to post some pics after you install it!

BTW..who did you order yours from? Any deals out there?
I think a couple of you on this site may be dealers. If so, I would rather throw the business to a member.
Looking for the Dana Marine Side Mount SC-1000 in Purple.
Thanks,
Danny

Went out on maiden voyage this weekend.....
Originally, I thought I wanted a single handle shifter, after some low speed docking, I am leaning toward the Dana.
Any deals out there?
Thanks

Danny, I ordered mine directly from Dana. I've had real good dealings with them directly. I'm not sure if there are any dealers on the site.

Thanks John. I am assuming you installed it yourself?? Any problems or issues? It looks like the base plate of the Dana covers the existing hole.

Installed the Dana Sc-1000....
What a difference. Click.. forward, Click.. reverse
Docking is so much easier, throttle has an adjustable friction screw, accessible from the side. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. All billet, easy to install, just make sure that your current cables are compatible, I found out they weren't after I disassembed the Quicksilver unit on Friday before Labor Day.
