I'm not an expert, but you would be getting a great hull, with dual ram hydraulic steering, and some nice looking trim tabs already in place, and from what I can tell a serviceable trailer. It seems like that would be a pretty good starting place, and you could power it with whatever you want.

Local Lenny? Even if it is not local with shipping costs, taxes, exchange etc. it would still be a good deal, if you need a big block for it, I have a 1969 396 fresh marine rebuild in the garage.........

That hull sure reminds me of the 24' Excaliburs that I have owned. Narrow beam, a little squirrely, but a good overall ride. It sure seems like a good deal. My 2 cents, Bill

Excalibur was the original, the rest are copies, Pantera, Twister, P&D, Sunsation, Superboat, BRT, Etc.

First perfomance boat I ever rode in was an Excaliber, that my boss had just bought from Mike Alweiss. I'll never forget that first ride. That was in 192, and it was a 1981 Excaliber, that actually belonged to Mike's dad.

It's been my experience, there is no such thing as a good deal for a non running boat. The little things needed to put a boat in running shape will kill your budget. The engine is the least of your worries, trust me.

Like construction, there are only two thing you can be absolutely sure of:

!) It will take longer
2) It will cost more

Buy this deal, then figure what you'll put into it, tripple that amounts, then get back to me in four years when you sell it for whatever you can get for it.

Never buy a boat because you think it's a good deal, only buy a boat because you want it.

Being the most practical boat for your needs, doesn't mean it's the boat you want. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. :)
