New prop for the little V-drive just came in, and other than running out of gas due to too many high speed runs, the reviews are good!!

Incredible holeshot, like the boat leaps out of the water, fun...
Top end is still not quite what I am looking for.. 50 mph at 5600 RPM...

I think a bit more pitch would be helpful, but I wanted you all to see this prop.. Um.. Very, Very, different..... But really cool!!

Cheers!!

You know, I got a pair of channel locks and a hammer. I bet I could fix that sucker for ya.

The custom "Aeration Prop" sure is not helping your top end!

I know.. Strange, but if aeration is what gave me nearly 10 mph on the top end, I will take it!
Think Voritices off of the ends of the blades..
Sorta like how all jets now have winglets.... All I know is that it did not cavitate at all, and still had punch between 4 and 5 grand ...!

Garry,
I am not familiar with that design. What pitch did you end up getting there? Bill

What size is that prop, I have a couple of v-drive props I could loan you.

It is a 12x 14L at this point, on a 1" shaft... with the 'winglets' and a wicked cup in it.
I just sent it back to have some more pitch put in, and to make it a bit more 'aggressive'.. We'll see...

The improvement was substantial over the original prop, which cavitated like crazy!
Hopefully the increase in pitch will load things down a bit more, and be able to get me some more top end at lower RPMS...

Hey Farmer!
I would love to see what you might have up your sleeve... Are your props left handed and 1" bore??

Thanks!

Garry,
It sounds like you might want to try one of the 4 blade props since you are having cavitation issues. You can call them for a better idea, but they have a 30 day return policy. They also have some Solas 4 blade props. Just a thought, Bill

Actually, the cavitation was with the original 3 blade, very vanilla prop. The new one with the winglets is unbelievably grabby.. the boat Leaps out of the water, and does not cavitate hardly at all in tight turns..
Very- un-V-drive like!!

I like!!

One is a 13X13 one inch shaft left hand 3 blade, I think the other is a 12x12 LH- 1" shaft. Do you have a picture of the cavitation plate?

Hmmmmn.. Interesting.. the 13 x 13 might be an interesting option.. I already know that a 12 x12 would not hold the horsepower, as my 12 x 14 was already slipping like crazy...

I will be in touch once I get the new prop worked a bit more, then perhaps I could do a comparison!

Thanks Farmer!!
