Ok the thing ran on the dyno. I now have it dropped in the boat. The thing cranks over real strong but no spark. I cleaned up all the grounds. Checked connections on the computer and anything else I can think of but still no spark

Electronics are 1999 454 Mag MPI stuff. MEFI3.
Got fuel
Got air
No spark:bonk:

Any ideas. Trying to get a factory service manual but don't have one right now.

Thanks

is the fuel pump and breaker working? ECU trigger power goes through that connection I believe...

Prop was way wrong. Bill sent me his old one hopefully that shows up this week and I can try that.Sounds great with the Dana exhaust on it. Motor pulls really strong. Sounds like a Donzi should sound now. Recirculating pump blew a gasket after about an hour and half of running and had to get towed in. But still a great day. Looking foward to fixing the couple of little issues I had and getting back out on it this weekend.

Looks like it is up and carrying the bow. I bet it jumps on the plane nicely

The prop I got from Keith was cavitating pretty bad when I would throttle up so getting on plane was touchy. But once it hooked up....:pimp:

The B-1 I sent will not do that. It will come out of the hole faster than you want to push the drive. It should get there in a day or so.

I bet it felt great to mash it down at 45 or so and feel some acceleration.:pimp:

What is a High 5 anyway?

I will sit back and wait until the numbers are in.

are you running the exhaust through the prop? Are the little plastic plugs in the prop. I never had that problem with my Ragazza with that prop but it had less power and was a little smaller than this boat.

Is it faster than it was before? It does look like it is carrying the bow much better than any pictures that I have seen of it before!:pimp:

Got the new prop from Bill yesterday. Can't wait to get it out and try it with that prop. Few projects to accomplish before the weekend and a wedding on Friday. But hopefully get it out on the water again soon.

The most important thing is that you are on the water. That is one of the reasons I sent that prop. Is it optimal and will it give you that last 3 mph? No, but it is a decent all around prop with a good cruise. It is summer time, enjoy the boat. You have been wrenching for a long time and need to spend some time out on the water. Don't worry about dialing in the optimal number until you have spent a few days on the water with Ms Josie.

When you get ready I am sure that Grizz will have a recipe for you. Until then, enjoy the boat. and the way it runs, sounds and accelerates with that new motor.

CJMike-
When and where are you going to be running this (big green zx)
I wouldn't mind seeing your boat and meeting up with you, with my 28 zx and having a little fun.
let me know- I'm on Tonka.

Usually out on the St Criox or Lake Waconia it seems. But would be up for meeting up. Boat stays on the trailer so can go just about anywhere. Would be fun to get some Donzi's togther around here. Ran into another 27zx last weekend on the St Criox. It was the yellow one that was on CL last month. Talked to the guy a little bit when we were in a no wake zone.
Maybe we could even get Superhatz out there with his Magnum.

Whenever, and wherever, just let me know. Mine is on the trailer as well, and screaming to get wet!!
