This question may have been answered before, but what is the cost for a 350 rebuild, vs a 454 rebuild. Also, what should a merc alpha cost to rebuild and the cost of a bravo rebuild?
Finally, has anyone had any experience with a berkeley jet drive?
Thanks,
Jim

That is pretty vague question. For starters, are you doing any of the work, engine removal, reinstall? Same for the drive. If you want a better idea of rebuild cost you have to be more specific.

A good complete job by a good guy is from 2 to $4000

Plus, are you talking BB Vs. SB same power? or same speed overall? Kind of a tough question.
Parts are generally cheaper for SBC. labor isn't. But, that assumes the SB has less power... trying to make a SB have the same power as a BB and you get into some high end parts and the price goes way up quick.

SB vs BB its real easy to spend twice as much on a big block build than a small block. Just start comparing parts prices. All that little extra adds up.

to compare the engines ive done,my sbc in my x was $6500.00 for 400+ ponys..now my 502's add another 2k per engine.
Remember the nicer the nice the higher the price!
