I was all excited dewinterized everything works great didn't have to replace any broken parts. Then leaving the neighborhood I wasn't paying attention and did this. 25 years of dragging trailers around this is the first time I ever curbed one. The bad thing is they don't make those wheels anymore so I will have one all chrome wheel and three like this. The black is peeling on the other three so I am tempted to buy a rattle can of chrome paint and make the other three match better.http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3395/3526371660_67d2b0d822.jpg?v=0http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3596/3526371718_33b88b4c94.jpg?v=0

Why not just repaint the black on the 3 and paint the chrome center black on the new wheel? The rattle can chrome will stand out next to real chrome.

Every time I have tried to paint chrome the paint starts flaking off after a few weeks. any suggestions on how to make it stick?

sand it first... rattle can is only going to be so good anyway, but make sure you get metal paint and not the plastic stuff.

That looks like it smacked the curb at 50 mph, how did it get so destroyed?

you could always have them powder coated..

or you could sandblast them and use ppg dp 90 epoxy primer then scoot them in a urathane paint..

I think i will sand it and paint it I need to sand the others and paint them as well, but for now it just wont match till I get around to it. Actually it was only about 25 mph but it caught a seam in the curb where a storm drain is that stuck out just a bit.

Can't tell from the pic if the centre section got touched....you might try pressing it back, or beating on it, the chrome will probably peel off where it flakes, but who knows...

I've beat my steelies on my landcruiser truck to hell, and beat them back into shape.......

I towed a mint 18' Lyman about 1000miles once without a scratch to anything until I pulled into my own driveway and banged the trailer fender against a tree... Kind of like getting a speeding ticket on your home street after driving all day to get home....God has a sense of humor and mankind is often the stooge.
