Hi everyone,
I saw an ad on craigslist the other day for someone looking for a particular boat and said that it looks like the Donzi Sweet 16.. It got me thinking.. are there a lot of boats out there that look like a Donzi Sweet 16 that are not outboard powered? Doesn't matter what year they are..I'm just curious.

I'm not sure if a list was ever compiled of look a likes, but I've read that there were many, many splashes of the 16 hull over the years.

two I know of that are direct copies of a 16' Donzi are a Manta (outboard) and A Legend Marine. At Legend we took a left hand steer 16' with the wrap around back seat and made it right hand steer with the same wrap around seat. The first one was sold to the next door neighbor of the president of Donzi. When Legend stopped making boats Donzi got the molds.

mattyboy; Wasn't Shepard licenced to build Donzis(a 2 yr. deal) for Canadian sales??
That would make them authentic Donzis, not flips.....Ed

they had a donzi mold and were marketed as "shepard "donzi licensed by donzi
i guess they would not be a splash but an authorized donzi not made in florida and really were only mentioned as they might be labeled as shepard for resale
