Of getting that deck on..
Finally ready..
Any tips for placement of the deck and screwing it down?
Should I put a bead of life caulk across the top of the hull to help seal it?
I remember reading somewhere that someone used 5200 in the screw holes?

Anything to look for when placing the deck on the hull???

Finally happening....

Thanks,
GG

Just use some RTV to seal the joint. You, or a subsequent owner, may want to get it apart again.
Through bolt the joint in as many places as you can with SST screws, nylok nuts and fender washers inside the joint..
You'll be good.

At the risk of sounding like an echo ... Exactly what George says !

Do not be tempted to use 5200 as later down the road you or anyone else will regret it .... big time .

When I did my first 'partial' resto on mine back in '87 silicon had improved
since it's inception but was still not as good as the varieties available now.
I used a white marine version that was still perfectly bonded and watertight when I dismanteld it for the 'big one' 16 years later.

5200 will do for the screws but Life Caulk will work just as well and be easier to take out later if you have to.

I've never had a hull/deck / rubrail screw back out yet.
