View Full Version : Our Nation can we SAVE IT!

MOP

We as a Nation are in far more trouble losing our Freedom then some understand! It is a lot more then an issue of taxes it is control!

Yes I am fired up I just came from our local TEA PARTY! We are a fairly small community mostly plain hard working people and we had a turn out of over 2000, we were paled by Atlanta's 20,000 but by per capita I think we beat them

BE VERY AWARE AND AFRAID OF "AMCORE"

It has passed both houses with flying colors!

Amcore will be the Governments private police/army to protect them while they get us under full control, do you think that is not real thinking!

Why are we laying off NYC cops and many other police forces are following suit, but yet the Government will spend 5.3 billion a year to support its private police/army. America we are in trouble!

Wake up and quit thinking about your self and your children think about the here and now or there will be a NO future for all of us! There will be full and absolute control.

Did you know that having opposing signs and American flags on your vehicles gets your name on their subversive list, did you know that they have millions of email addresses logged to show which side you are on.

Do yourself a great justice and read the contents of the link below, if it is a bit long at the very least scroll down to the eight lines near the bottom!
http://www.boloji.com/opinion/0089.htm tell me we are not at No7 phase!

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St.
Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts
concerning the 2000 Presidential election:

Number of States won by:
Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29

Square miles of land won by:
Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by:
Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: 'In aggregate, the map of the
territory Republican won was mostly the land owned
by the taxpaying citizens of this great country.
Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens
living in government-owned tenements and living off various
forms of government welfare...' Olson believes
the United States is now somewhere between
the 'complacency and apathy' phase of Professor Tyler's
definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the
nation's population already having reached the
'governmental dependency' phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million
criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we
can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five
years.

WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE,
ONLY BECAUSE OF THE
BRAVE

BUT FOR HOW LONG IF WE DO NOT WAKE UP! Maybe you have not looked around to notice we the God fearing people of this nation are fast becoming a MINORITY!

By the way AMCORE will be mostly manned by what is fast becoming the MAJORITY! Think about that, if you don't see that coming with the immigration bill your are truly lost and may take the rest of us with you!

God Bless America and Damn Proud to be an American!

The last and important point is the Government has started to consider our returning troop's possible future domestic terrorists!!! Gee they may and up fighting for their country literally!

Democrats are all wards of the state, therefore, they should be feared.

Republicans outnumber Democrats and are the real hardworking folks of this country

The federal government is funding a police state.

Showing your patriotism gets you on a list.

Immigrants are welcomed by our congress with no conditons and therefore they will soon over-run the country.

The government calls all of our returning veterans future domestic terrorists.

Rather than simply saying (forgive my paraphrasing) [you gotta be mentally handicapped to believe any of this], would it not be a more effective rebuttal to simply ask if there is any evidence for the claims? If none is presented, the claims will look plenty foolish. If there is evidence, perhaps it will foster an interesting discussion.

I would offer the following to support my claim: Suppose, three years ago, someone had said we would have a banking collapse, double-digit unemployment, and better than a tripling of the reckless annual government deficits that the Bush White House and two Congresses had run up?

A LOT of people would simply reply, "What kind of kook are you?"

If that is where the conversation ended, it would, on reflection, be a sad failure of discourse. But had it sparked a real discussion of the fundamentals, perhaps some productive intervention might have occurred. Perhaps not. But I think anyone would give productive discourse a better chance than if the "kook" reaction was given.

Anybody ever read "Blink!" by Malcolm Gladwell? Fascinating book. And it suggests a certain amount of idiot-savant in all of us. Enough that our gut instincts may at times be right when we have NO conscious idea why. And one conclusion is that it can sometimes be extremely useful to do some digging into opinions strongly held but little understood.

Perhaps another answer would be "dude, you must be seeing something I'm not because my gut tells me that's absolutely nuts!? What am I missing that makes you think that?" I asked that once before and found out about this. I still don't know what it means, but I'm glad someone showed it to me (most have seen it by now, just an example):

I usually stay out of this bull**** cause alot of you politically have you heads so far up your ass the flowers smell like **** in your world. but i would like to point out that there are not major layoffs in the NYPD there are some cutbacks and not to do some dr evil plan for koas, but due to budget restraints. most ny city agencies will see a 5% reduction in funding the uniformed services that is police fire corrections and sanitation will see a 0.5% reduction most of which will be absorbed thru clerical and equipment cutbacks

MOP,

As more information comes out, hopefully more people will wake up. The clip Ghost posted came from one of his campaign speeches, if I remember correctly. Even if it didn't, I was astounded at the lack of public outcry when it was made. People told me I was (insert appropriate RTSE response here). Now that there is evidence that he is quickly moving in that direction, which would seem to be supported by the report put out by the Department of Homeland Security which deems people who hold conservative values as "enemies of the state" and thereby "justifies" BO's need for such a force. Historical Reference to follow, change the channel if you don't want to read it. Hitler did EXACTLY the same thing. His civilian security force was the SS. My apologies to anyone who might have been offended by this historical reference, and who don't believe there is merit to using past historical data to predict potential future behavior of individuals in like situations.

Regardless, I stopped receiving the NRA complimentary magazine years ago because while I strongly believe in what they are doing, I got tired of the way they seem to "exaggerate" everything to make it seem like such a crisis that if you don't send us $XXXX.XX the US is going to cease to exist. I understand why feel they have to do this, but I got tired of it.

When easily check-able facts presented during a discussion turn out to be inaccurate, it takes away from the credibility of the rest of the author's points. According to Snopes, the information attributed to Joseph Olson is "Mostly False." http://www.snopes.com/politics/ballot/athenian.asp

Reading their summary is interesting, because over the last 2 years, I have seen evidence that the "fact checkers" at Snopes appear to be letting their political bias come through. They are good at the "Reptile man mates with Alien from planet Gargantua, first offspring was Julius Caesar" clarifications, but things political seem to be more agenda based.

I also don't know if it is an accident, or planned, but most of the stuff BO is doing, is so FAR out there (i.e. giving away enormous amounts of tax payer $$ so he can claim ownership of the recipient's companies {I believe this is technically called Socialism}, to the point of NOT ALLOWING the recipients to return the money when they discover all the strings attached to it), that simply mentioning them factually and articulately makes one sound like a whack-job.

I am with you, in that unless people become informed, he will continue to take over our country. In ways that violate his oath of office to uphold the Constitution of the US, by the way.

Okay, Howard, I'm sober and I have had a pretty good day, so far. I do not feel like this was a personal attack on me. But if you are hiring out for some counseling time, because you think I need it, pass me a phone number. BTW, do you take credit cards?

What I do feel like is insulted that somebody would think I would buy this BS. I truly feel sorry for someone who would, because they are going to look pretty dumb in the end.

As for the apathy, no not really. I have been politically active my entire adult life. What I have learned from these experiences is that to get your message heard it must be factual and not completely on the fringe of emotion and alarm. For somebody that might be starting to see the cracks in the direction our country is going right now, this post would not give them any alternative. I WILL be involved in the NEXT election cycle trust me, but involved with those who can actually get somebody elected, not some fringe group.

Oh well, I could have just called BS and started blowing the "facts" up like others have done here, but it seemed like a waste of time.

A. We've never met. I'm not yet your buddy.

B. For those who actually read and comprehend, I DIDN'T call Obama Hitler. I stated a fact that Hilter created a civilian police force called the SS. I then stated another fact that Obama wants one and is working towards that direction (see video link posted of him reading this off his very own teleprompter). Neither of these things are "my opinion." Hitler did it, Obama is starting to do it. Facts, they can be a real pisser can't they.

Actually, a big part of the reason Hitler was able to rise to power was because he marketed himself as a Super German Patriot. He promoted the idea that the "pure" German was a superior human being compared to all other races. He used Nationalism to rally people to his side.

Obama seems to be taking another approach. He is globe trotting, bowing down before other leaders, and basically apologizing for the very existence of the US.

History, it's a terrible thing to waste.

HISTORY: Don't want to question whats been said so far but I think HITLER got his START with assistance his Brown Shirts. They were his Civilian Police in the early days. They were headed by Ernst Rohm I believe. He was an early BIG supporter of Hitler. Their job was to go around and Bash Heads of Jews and anyone else who Resisted the "New Order". IT WORKED.

However, Rohm got a little cocky and out of hand and was starting to embarrass HITLER with his brutality....This was not good.....SO Rohm was assasinated, ..AND his Brown Shirts were CRUSHED. Then came .......The SS. John

Charlie LeDuff: Travels with Charlie
Anger boils among Michigan militia members

Bancroft -- The coordinator of the Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia is a postman. The corpsman of the Lenawee Volunteer Militia works in the paint and hardware department at Wal-Mart. He earns $11.25 an hour. His son, the major, works in a group home for the developmentally disabled. He earns $9.50 an hour. Their comrade, the commander, was laid-off from his job at a vitamin store. He earns nothing.

"Am I angry?" asked the unemployed commander, with a semi-automatic rifle strapped across his pectorals. "Yeah, it sets you off a little bit."

Come to a Michigan Militia picnic and you realize the commander is not alone. The farm where they rallied was chockfull of people like him, people boiling on the back burner, struggling to make ends meet, carrying around a knapsack of resentment for a government that they claim has taken almost everything from them and given nothing in return.

"Liberty," says the commander, 33, whose Christian name is Matthew Savino, of Adrian. "You cannot take my liberty. Eventually a man draws a line in the sand."

And so, more than 100 people like Savino converged on the farm of Frank Stasa, who militia literature says "kicked Hitler's a--."

The militia held its annual field day on Stasa's farm, about a 20-minute car-drive west of Flint, and threw in a tea party and tax revolt for good measure. The militia's party included hamburgers, sausages, soda pop and a .50 caliber carbine rifle and a firing range. Kids were admitted free.

With the economic meltdown, the complaints of the militiamen are beginning to sound less like paranoia and more like the topic of Manhattan cocktail parties: a socialized economy, a ballooning debt and wars on two fronts.

"What are we leaving the children?" asked Rob Soldenski, a 49-year-old unemployed delivery driver from Warren. "A legacy of debt and an infringement on their civil liberties. We got to push back when the time to push comes."

"I've seen a 35 percent reduction in pay," said his ex-wife Cyn Soldenski, who brought along their 7-year-old daughter Tessa. "I bought a house 18 months ago. The interest rate is going to reset and I'm so far underwater I'm going to drown. We've got to take the stupid government and throw it out."

If you listen to this group you begin to realize that they cannot take over the world; they probably couldn't take over their brother's trailer payments. They are a restless and frustrated group: a hodgepodge of ex-farmers, ex-military, ex-truck drivers, ex-factory workers, wipers of other people's bottoms. Many are firmly among the state's 20 percent unemployed or underemployed.

They turn to the Bill of Rights, though most people here could not recite those 10 amendments. They prepare for a war to defend them. No one can say -- not even the militia members themselves -- how many people sympathize with their movement.

"OK, you work all day long and you sell your liberty to survive," said Mike Slomkowski, 50, a former factory worker who now teaches firearm training. "They take your work away. You've now put a man in a corner. The government worries about him being idle and so they begin to crowd his liberty. Here is where you have a problem."

The militia is not alone in placing their faith in the gun and bullet. Consider that there is a national shortage of ammunition, blamed in part on the election of Barack Obama. The NRA has warned its millions of members that the Obama Administration wants to restrict gun ownership and tax ammunition. FBI firearm background checks have increased more than 30 percent since he was elected president.

Still, the picnic goers railed about George W. Bush, too. In fact they believe there is little difference between a Democrat and a Republican. Bush, Clinton, Obama. Stick them in a bag. Shake it up. And the same rapacious thing crawls out: a creature from a smoke-filled backroom.

"They're all the same thing," Cyn Soldenski said. "Corporate tools."

Ever since the Oklahoma City bombing of 1995, the Michigan Militia has been branded a hate group of fringe crazies. But the militiamen at Stasa's farm were quick to point out that Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, the perpetrators of the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building that killed 168 people, were not Michigan Militia members but rather curiosity seekers. Naturally, the militia blames the media for this misconception.

"The press has given the militia a bad name," said Jim Gulliksen, 59, the Wal-Mart worker from Adrian.

"Untrue," said this reporter. "Timothy McVeigh gave the militia a bad name."

"OK, he kind of gave the militia a bad name," retorted Gulliksen. "But the people in the militia hated him. They didn't want him. He came to one or two meetings before we told him to get out of here."

McVeigh notwithstanding, the militia provides a release valve for a frustrated class, said Lee Miracle, a postal worker from Sterling Heights, and coordinator of the picnic's shooting range.

"In the end, I hope we're mitigating anger by teaching people to shoot," Miracle said. "Hey, I work at the post office. The boss asks why I go out to the range every month. I tell him: 'You want me to go to the range every month.' It blows off steam."

In the 19th century, the famous horror writer, Egdar Allan Poe, wrote a book called 'The narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym'. It was about four survivors of a shipwreck who were in an open boat for many days before they decided to kill and eat the cabin boy whose name was Richard Parker. Some years later, in 1884, the yawl, Mignonette, foundered, with only four survivors, who were in an open boat for many days. Eventully the three senior members of the crew, killed and ate the cabin boy. The name of the cabin boy was Richard Parker.

In the 1920s, three Englishman were traveling separately by train through Peru. At the time of their introduction, they were the only three men in the railroad car. Their introductions were more surprising than they could have imagined. One man's last name was Bingham, and the second man's last name was Powell. The third man announced that his last name was Bingham-Powell. None were related in any way.

Wow great spirited debate!

We can not blame Obama by himself he can not do things totally on his own, some of our Gov structure corrupt as it is still works to a point!

I like many was very entranced with him early on donated to his campaign and was hot to vote for him seeing hope and yes change. What turned me off was all the verifiable dirt that was dug up and his cronies and his funds from Fanny Mae. Also his birth place issue which is being brought to court again, notice he did release his tax stuff finally.
I feel the problem lies with the whole group in Washington not in party sides.
I do believe the Democrats pulled all the stops to get the huge black and Hispanic voter block to grab one of the largest power bases in history. Why do you think they are pushing immigration reform, maybe another 11 million voters plus more tax $$$.

If you keep and eye on the news it is obvious they are getting a bit paranoid about the general working population, the ones on the dole they have in their pockets. There has not been such discontent in a very long time. There is more then meets the eye happening in private just like the Billions spent in private!

Not sure about other areas of the country but here out by me many voted for Obama and now many are disappointed and angry.

We need to keep an eye on the news and especially how it is reported, be unbiased it is the only way to get the full picture. I watch MSNBC, CNN, BBC, Debka, CBS, FOX, ABC and others that I am referred to, I want the full picture and not to have my head buried in the sand. Many Liberals and some Conservatives refuse to watch FOX to conservative and right wing, maybe one evening you should put your self through the Hellish nightmare of watching Lefties, Righties and middle of the road people debate openly about what is going on with no punches pulled.

Note reporting on T parties on many channels called the people radicals, subversives, lefties, I know many of the people at our T party they do not fit those categories. They were just like your friends and neighbors, but the paranoid group make sure that much of the news is slanted against good honest hard working folks that don't want to be screwed!

We all say remember 9/11, but 9/12 was just as memorable is showing what a great country this is we all pulled together.

It is high time we starting pulling together again, forget who or what you voted for focus on the real issues!

Facts are facts the GROUP has appointed nothing but crooks, no one can deny that. They are running around like a Chinese Fire Drill with our economy while real economist think they are way of track and know it will only make things much worse. We are spent into the 3rd or 4th generation, is this what you rasied a family for. I worry about my kids and their kids, it is not right that they end up slave to the economy mistakes made by others. We have all paid taxes through our noses only to see it squandered by the crooks in Washington

The man himself is going around the world beating up our image as a country at every turn. You have an idiot speaker of the house, you have another paranoid idiot gal at the defense dept. And the list continues to grow!

I love my country but have watched not just this administration but about 30 years worth of tearing things down, very little doubt this group is taking it a few steps further. We need to start thinking together, we are all in one way or another feeling the pain/crunch. I like many was laid off due to down down sizing and the job outlook is bleak to say the least. Somehow the madness must be stopped. We must keep bombarding out legislators to change course and get us on a better track, many are swaying as it is just keep pushing!

P.S. RT Just to clarify! I only drink but on rare occasions, I am the one that usually drives others home! I do go off the end maybe 5-6 times a year that is it!

Sincerely M.O.P.

MOP, Howard accused ME of being the drunk. I don't remember accusing you of that. I did accuse you of not really thinking through the post that started this thread, because most of the assertions are just wrong in my opinion.

BUT, this being said, while I can't say I am aligned with you on all of the issues that you just took the time to elaborate on, I do agree that things are broken and we need to fix things in this country. Alot of things.

So thanks for taking the time to put your thoughts down in a meaningful way. This is the kind of stuff we can all get behind, discuss, DEBATE IN A CIVIL MANNER, and come up with solutions to problems, and hopefully get the right people elected to office to make it happen.

It IS going to take a lot of folks banded together behind a common cause to take our country back to the principles it was founded on. You and I, and everybody else here who seem to be pretty quick to get down in the personal dirt ball of controversy and anger. Nothing gets solved by beating the snot out of each other, because I don't buy into everything you believe in. This country was founded on diversity of ideals and freedom of thought.

Peace and thanks,

Todd

I agree.

Although I must admit to being perplexed by something. Based on your responses to many of my posts, I'm not sure exactly what you mean when you say "DEBATE IN A CIVIL MANNER." A person of integrity would certainly lead by example, adhering to their own principles, yet this is not what I have observed.

I'm just saying. . . . .

...the personal dirt ball of controversy and anger...

Maybe it's just a sunny Spring Friday, but I laughed out loud when I read this phrase. I LOVE this expression. (Although I want to use it a slightly different way.) I look forward to the day when, armed with this phase and when presented with one, I can label that someone a "personal, dirtball of controversy and anger."

Not the sort of thought I'd ever expect to have about someone here, but I think we all run into people who we think fit this description. Now I have a priceless new term for it. :)

A few facts to chew over. Also "then" and "than" are very different words.

Phil, when you put pen to paper, I have always liked the way you write in PLAIN ENGLISH and don't mince words.

However, you can't say Chinese Fire Drill anymore, you now have to say Asian High Temperature Mitigation Demonstration!!

We need to keep things like this going, the system has been broken for a long time. It seems to be going off the deep end now, we all have known for many years about the crooks in office and have just shrugged it off, we have to stop shrugging!! This in not the old days we cannot "Call to Arms"!!! But we can keep pestering our representatives until we are blue in the face dump them next time around if they start to do it better. Government needs to shrink a bit, it is obvious we cannot keep the over bloated mess going.
We all take the time to forward emails, spend hours on the net. Use some of the time on the net to make the future of you and your families. The ways things are now we must all work together or the job of straightening things out will not get done!!! I really hope the T parties are the tip of the ice berg!

You call a guy "buddy" and he starts questioning your integrity. Sorry buddy, you don't know me either.

I am glad to see you starting to talk about your boat, as this is what the this site was intended for. You want to have some real fun, tow it to AOTH and meet all of these guys. You might find you are wrong about me, or you just might discover that you ARE. Your call.

RT, we obviously don't see eye to eye on whether it's proper "decorum" to be posting these political rants here, on a boating site. Honestly, I think that's where our philisophical differences end for the most part. I just thought it was a bit over the top to tell MOP that he doesn't have a functioning brain cell left, or whatever the quote was.

But for the love of Donzi boats, I am and always will be proud to be your "buddy".
