A member was nice enough to send me a steering cable for my 22. Thanks again.

Any advice on which is the best way to change it?

I am thinking
-Unhook from helm
-Unhook from tiller
-Pull it out forward from under dash

Install new in reverse, slide in tiller end aft from under dash down side, hookup tiller end, hook up helm end.

Please an ideas if you feel there is a better way.

This should be a quick job (with your added help)

Also I am familiar with how the tiller end connects but not the helm end. How is the helm end connected?

Thanks

I might be totally off, but I swear mine is a loop.

I have to look again.

the one thing I know for sure is tie a string to the end so you can pull the new one back through the same way.

Use the old cable to pull the new? Or use the old to pull some cord that you can use to pull the new? (Perhaps this was just assumed.)

It seems it would be better to have the cable fully retracted, so the wheel turned lock left, before I removed the cable. Would you agree? I have a rotary helm.
