Beautiful. A work of art.

The rest of the car looks awesome too!

If you are looking to go turned metal, personally, I think it is a bad idea. The background of the dash really shouldn't be a reflective nightmare in a boat.

however, the dash shape itself is sexy...

This is similar to what I'm working on for my 22c dash project now.

I'm hoping for a tan under my chin.

I have been keeping it a secret so far. I was going to wait until I was finished, but I didn't want to think that your idea inspired me.

You do have a great idea though!:cool!:

Too Funny! I just emailed my brother an autocad file for a potential engine turned dash design he's going to waterjet for me.

I've already found the stock, now I just have to decide on the layout and what size gauges I want to use.

About three times I was sure I had it finalized, then something would happen and I'd change my mind.

George,
Are you thinking that type metal or the sculpted dash layout or both? Someone on the forum here has done that type metal look, but I can't remember - KYDonzi? Here is a wood dash that a man in Florida who does old Jaguar dashes made for an old one - his name is Saul Chaplin. I will probably be letting him make one for my XJ6 some day since his work is spectacular. Just thought I would show another type Jaguar dash. I obviously like the metal look since I went with the brushed SS on my 1971 Donzi. Bill

I think it was Pierson's "Pumpkin" you're thinking of.
If I nremember correctly, it was machined from some fairly thick stock.
Anyway it's very impressive.

Yeah, KYDonzi did an engine-turned dash for his boat. I talked about it with him last year after he posted pics as I really liked the retro look. That was where I got my idea originally. Well, that and hanging around a bunch of vintage cars over the years.

Here's where I'm getting my stock:

I'm just getting a blank 8x25 sheet then I'll have it cut, but I think they could cut it to your specs as well.

it's not that bright, that was my first thought, but the turning calms it down abit
