Last night at about 6:30 a 22' boat with 14 people on board collided with a small 25' work tug being used to build a new dock.

5 people dead at the scene, 3 life flighted to the hospital with trauma... others injured as well... sad.

Thought and prayers to the families of all involved. :frown:

Chromie, I'm assuming sunset in Jax is pretty close to sunset here. Was it still light at 6:30 PM?

We are at about the same longitude, and it doesn't get dark here until well after 8. I heard about it last night, and just saw it on the local news.

Very sad.

Sunset was around 7:50pm yesterday. Bright clear day as well.

Very sad. That's a lot of people on that boat.

Prayers for the families.

If the picture shows THE 22' boat in the accident, how in the world did they have "at least 14 people" on that boat? The article mentions they didn't know the speed.

Anyone here with a 22 think it would plane off with 2,400 lbs of people on board?

Something isn't adding up with this accident.

Plenty of light at 6:30. Last weekend I didn't pull the boat out of the water until 7PM and the sun was still up.
