View Full Version : %40 update and need color advice....

Now that I have had some time to go through her, overall, I am pleased, but she is going to need a little TLC. Luckily I have a blasting cabinet and it will be busy. The plate that holds the wiring harness is in need. Got some rusted bolts. Going to replace all hoses and fuel lines with SS and braided. Pressure tested the exhuast and it is fine.

Now, here is the advice part. My Bronco, (yes it is finally almost done) is slated to be painted next week. Below is a pic of the color it is going to be (top will be white)-

Notice that it is strangly close to Merc Blue......

I like the color of the Bronco and think while it is being shot, I might have some engine parts done at the same time with the same color. Thinking all the pulleys, maybe the intake, maybe carb maybe top of spark arrestor, maybe power steering pump, altinator, etc...Maybe some, maybve a combo, maybe none. The valve covers have some scratches and could be candidates too......Any ideas or suggestions? Like, dislikes?

Just be glad you can SEE your engine. My 502 Mag is so buried under wiring harnesses and sensors all you can see is the top of the plenum and the accessories.:frown:

No, not mine. Just a pic I gave my painter last fall for the color of the Bronco. He said he could match it.

John, leave the top of the flame arrestor stock with decal/deckel.

Paint what ever you want blue.

my brother Eddie is here (donzi287). he says he has the plate you need and to give him a ringy dingy. :cool!:

Yep, and leave them thinking that you only have a 500hp not a fire breathing 540!
