Donzi X-18 battery box cover

I am looking for a battery box cover for an X-18. An 18 Classic should probably work, any other options? Ideas on fabrication would be appreciated.

Ideas on fabrication would be appreciated.i made one in a half a hour out of 1/2 inch starboard sits up about 1/8 1/16 but could be routered to sit flush just didnt have one and still dont some day

Thanks for the advice on the starboard. That should work great. Do you know what the cover should look like? Is there a hole to open it with your finger?
