That's the first yellow one I have seen... although the red boot looks aftermarket so the whole boat might have been painted.

just one thing if Pearson gets involved I know it will be a world class classic but in his motif (pumpkin orange )and he puts a great PPG yellow on it what would it be called the Lemon??? the Bananna ??? ;)

I can't believe I'm saying this, but this Minx is actually worse than mine when I bought it... Although it looks like the engine was kept in a time capsule.

Some things to think about since I just went through this...

-Trailers are expensive.
-Minx interior is a custom job, but I can hook you up with the guy that did mine if you want.
-Good luck replacing the windshield

good luck overall with checking it out:)

hey quit trying to ruin my appetite ;) yeah all things that I am considering, we did have a windshield made for the cig but who knows if they are still around in these times??? Thanks for the input :)

I don't mind a project as long as it is a work in progress and i can use it and work as I go so if the drive is replaced and she runs I can live with that

So far it seems like a really good deal... I bought my Minx through eBay too, but I was not the winning bidder. I let it ride, then as soon as the auction closed I low balled him an offer "if the winner falls through". Well, the winning bidder got there, saw how much work was needed and walked. The guy took my low ball offer + $500. The extra 5 bills went towards parts including a new oil pump and oil pan that he installed.

I had originally planned to do what you are talking about. Use the boat and fix it up as I go. However, the foam was popping out of the seats and no amount of duct tape would hold it in. It was so bad everytime I took it out little bits of foam would be flying around the boat. I took it out another time and broke down from a crappy wiring job. half the gauges didn't work, and the boat looked like crap. The prior owner had a couple of automotive parts on the engine, including the carb, and I really didn't feel comfortable with that either.

So I went all in and just fixed it right. About a year (2 weeks ago) I went back out for the first time and blew the drive. Hopefully this weekend I'll get the new drive on and back out for good

And you know what, it looks so stinkin' good now I wouldn't have it any other way. So, join the Minx club. It's frustrating at times but more fun than anything else.

Magnum = 4"

Hell, I'm even looking. If the price is right + the year of experience I have re-doing mine I could probably knock this thing out in a few weeks and have it looking like new. hahaha

I don't know, but I've got an Alpha that needs an upper if anyone wants a CHEAP drive. throw an SEI upper on there and you are good to go.

if not I'll put new gears in and keep it as a backup.

if someone here got it, good luck!!!!

I did not see it on ebay the 1st time. Did he use the same LE or navy Minx as his first picture in the 1st ad? Tom

I wish matty would chime in with what he saw in person. Tough to get a Donzi at that price whether it needs work or not.
