Couple of things about the conflicker worm. As I own a fairly large business network, I have done some pretty intense research on it.

10,000,000-15,000,000 computers infected. This sounds like alot, right? Not really considering the potential is billions computers.

Second, the areas infected the most are in China, India and other third world countries that use bootleg windows programs that can not use windows updates to get the patch. Kinda serves them right if they are going to use unauthorized bootleg operating systems.

Third, most infected computers in the US are not home pc's. They are large business networks on Windows that are not diligent in using automatic updates. In fact, many businesses use very strong aftermarket firewalls that may even prevent automatic updates from Windows.

So, in reality, the chances you have conflicker is very small, especailly if you are not on a business network and use windows automatic updates.

Still, that being said, run windows update, download the patch, and you are fine. If it can't connect to microsoft on automatic updates, then you have it. Unplug it, disconnect your internet, and take it to someone to have it removed. It is a bitch to remove it if you do it yourself.

when the first thing you heard after all of the 2400 baud connection chatter was: "YOU HAVE MAIL!" Must have been about 1994 or so....

Todd, I like your "BAN" key. Do you have a "SMITE" key somewhere too?

Solid, boxy, very solid.

Are you an honorary Midvale grad as well? Give me a pair of doors and I will always get the locked one on the first try, if not push the pull.

(For any who are unfamiliar, see attached Far Side by Gary Larson. I recommend his books.)

We need a thread for funny comics. I'm sure Buiz or Boxy would be at the top.
