I have a buddy that needs a tank for a 16 (I think he said 1970). Does anyone know what all the dimensions are for the tank?

Mattboy we called them up and they said that they did not have the dimensions and would not build it unless we could provide the dimensions. They did not start building them tell late 70's I guess?

MadPoodle thanks for the reply with that. Are we sure that there are no changes over the years on the tanks?

no they didn't change to a bigger tank till they moved the lift ring ( the ring on the smaller tank is near the middle of the front deck near the fuel fill and a larger tank boat the lift ring is up near the bow light) a 1970 would be a 25 or 23 gallon tank. the fwd bulkhead holding the the tank in place also serves as the bulkhead for the lift ring. on a 16 and depending on how you will secure the tank capacity can be added by making the tank taller with out moving bulkheads

I ordered one from them their part number is FMT 23 DZ about 4 years ago , they do want to have a diagram signed off by you before they build one.

I have their blue print at home I can post it up tonight

Audio,

here is the difference in the lift rings, I believe the newer sweet 16 and 16 classic post 1990 (after they were re introduced from their production stoppage 80-89) were fitted with the larger tank . with the larger tank the fwd bulkhead holding the tank and the fwd lift ring needed to be moved .
on the 16 skisporter pre 1980 the ring was back by the fuel fill

Ok I will forward all the dimensions to my buddy and have him measure up the area and see if a tank of the above dimensions looks like it will fit.
