I understand National Sovereignty. As such, I find this exceptionally troubling.

And I must add, that the only thing that surprises me about this, is the speed at which they have gotten to this point.

I've been reading about the World Trade currency in the past. Where it goes will be interesting... or catastophic for some.

I remember reading about the "Amero" $$$ a few years back when some predicted where we are ... now ...

Gotta say I'm confused here. GWB had lots of inarticulate moments, but I don't get what was wrong with this answer. Sure, it sounds funny at first, like a kid using the definiton of the word in the answer, but to me the question itself is the bigger issue. In fact, I think GWB's answer was THE important answer. What is special about the 21st century or whatever that makes sovereignty any different from what it was in the past? Sovereign is sovereign.

What's he supposed to say? "In the past, we upheld our treaties with the tribes, considering them sovereign entities as the treaties prescribed. Now that 2000 has rolled around, and with the internet and all, and gambling money we could swipe, we intend to go back on our word, and start forcing them under our authority, when we think it's beneficial to us."

Was the expectation that he would describe further what sort of negotiation strategy he wanted to have with these embedded sovereign entities? We are talking about Indian Nations that exist within our borders, right? Somebody tell me what I'm missiing--I'm a couple hours short of proper sleep last night.

It seems to me the Democrats have had control of both houses of Congress and ALL the spending for nearly two and a half years and look where we are..........

Will it get better as long as that party has control?
If we end up totally insolvent due to excessive spending, unbelieveable budgets, and our creditors not buying our paper, will this party (or its supporters) ever admit they screwed up?

George, chop-chop, edit that typo (control) just above or the thought-police will be here in no time.

Had the sentence been about the Presidency instead of Congress, guys in kevlar and swim fins would already have kicked in your door pointing M-16s everywhere. :)

BTW, I've recovered from my bout with Stockholm Syndrome (I joined in with the hijackers there for a while), I definitely am troubled by the stuff you cited at the top of the thread. Some colossally bad ideas are springing up by the dozen in this "make-up-the-law-as-you-go" Wonderland.

I have no more wind in my sails for this stuff. It comes everyday.
Today they want the right to take over privately owned business like they would a bank.
O.K. How large is the cut off point for a business that the government can take over?

No answer.

We watched a country do what they purpose for decades and then fail (the USSR). What made it fail, CAPITALISM.

Here's one I forgot to post yesterday;

'I'm having a very good crisis,' says Soros as hedge fund managers make billions off recession
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1164771/Im-having-good-crisis-says-hedge-fund-manager-1billion-world-plunged-recession.html

This man appears to hate the ideas of the USA of the founding fathers and seems to do everything he can to disrupt the growth and prosperity of this country as we've known it.
He's a big time Obama supporter.
I have to assume he wants a socialist US.
