Makes it almost reasonable to get one just to play with it. I wonder what the consumables cost.

I don't know what that "printer" costs, got to be pretty big bucks. But what struck me as incredible is that the 3D scanner is under 3 grand. That's a fun toy all by itself. That would've been untouchable to smaller companies a few years ago. Pretty exciting stuff. :yes:

I wonder how it handles shrouded features that the scanner cannot capture... :biggrin.:

Exactly what I was trying to figure. Since it is a laser beam scanner, it would not be able to "see" and program any recesses in the piece that it scans. Since the end result is a plastic positive mold to use to make the real copy, why not just cast the original. Maybe I am missing something here. Bill
