My red sides and stripe were pink when I purchased the boat. I would invest in a good detailing buffer at auto body supply store pick up some cutting compound and try that first if no luck pick up so 1500 or higher wet sand paper also soft rubber block it has holes in one side. Use a bucket of water with some soap in it and start lightly sanding. If the paper hits the ground or gets dirt in it stop using that piece. God speed

Of course I can't be sure, but I would be surprised if buffing cuts the oxidation. Compounding and buffing can also be deceiving, because while they may cut through a portion of the oxidation, they leave behind a petroleum based film that gives an appearance that the color is restored. Trouble is, after a week or three this wears off and the dreaded pink returns.

You may have to start with an aggressive grit of wet-sanding and go up gradually from there.
Donzi used plenty of gel, so there is thickness to work with.

Here are another couple threads on this topic, documenting my experience with a pink boat.

It has held up very well.
I use Leverage Polish twice per summer, keep it stored in a portable shed, and imo the gel looks as good as new.
