Chrysler president Thomas LaSorda said the company would commit to maintaining roughly a quarter of its North American production in Canada if its “needs” are met.

blackmail. Not sure what this whole tax thingy is about. Don't you people have farily straight forward tax laws? Where is the interpretation coming into play?

I guess a lot of companies do it. As a matter of fact, all companies seem to do it when coming in to a new area. This is what makes the southern senators such hyprocrites with the transplant factories. They paid through the nose to win these joints, and then all of a sudden, we are fiscally responsible when it comes to the taxpayer's money and the bail-outs.

But the payola for staying is an interesting twist. I would love to hire-on and negotiate on behalf of CA, I know how these guys work every day and I would tie them down like a two week calf for anything I gave in return.

On the news here in Detroit, they had a news story how Chrysler is stating they may not have enough money to make it thru the summer.
