While driving home last evening, I saw that a friend of mine had just installed a newly rebuilt nacelle wind generator on a tower that will make 40KW. He hired a 300+' crane truck out of Dallas to pick it up as a unit and lower it to the base for attachment. It went flawlessly and will be making power to sell back to the local power company next month. It is the first in our area, and cost him about $100,000 to build and install with his doing most of the work (base and tower build). After talking to him for about 40 minutes, he said if it proves itself, he will build a much larger one costing about $350,000 to run his large convenience store and gas station here at the lake. This one came from California where they upgraded to much larger generators. The projected numbers work out very well with a life expectancy of about 12 to 15 years before needing a rebuild. Pretty cool investment in my book. Bill
